Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Norwich (3 days onsite)
Initial 6-Month Contract
Outside IR35

Overview We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor  to provide quantity surveying services across a portfolio of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong cost management, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement experience.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project cost plans, forecasts, cash flow projections, and commercial reporting.
• Manage subcontractor, supplier, and material costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs), schedules of rates, specifications, and supporting commercial documentation.
• Undertake quantity take-offs, site measurements, and valuations of completed works.
• Assess and manage variations, compensation events, and change control processes.
• Prepare and support interim applications, progress claims, and final accounts.
• Review and certify subcontractor and supplier payment applications.
• Deliver commercial reporting, cost analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
• Support procurement activities, tender evaluations, and supply chain management.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing cost-saving initiatives where possible.
• Liaise effectively with project managers, contractors, consultants, designers, and suppliers.
• Produce key commercial deliverables and management information to support successful project delivery.

Ideal Experience

• Proven Quantity Surveying  experience within engineering, infrastructure, construction, or energy projects.
• Strong understanding of cost control, contract administration, valuations, and final accounts.
• Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain commercial activities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and reporting skills.
• Ability to operate autonomously and provide independent commercial advice.

Contract Details

• 6-month initial engagement with potential for extension.
• Outside IR35.
• Norwich-based with 3 days per week onsite.
• Expenses covered.
